We foster sustainable tourism
in ASEAN and Japan
The year 2023 marked the 50th commemorative year of ASEAN-Japan relations. To celebrate this milestone, the ASEAN-Japan Tourism Ministers’ Special Dialogue was held on 28 October 2023 in Tokyo with the aim to advancing a sustainable tourism path for the next 50 years with ASEAN and Japan.
This website aims to foster sustainable tourism in ASEAN and Japan by sharing best practices, exchanging insights, and enhancing initiatives. We define sustainable tourism as tourism that holistically empowers local communities and contributes to long-term cultural and environmental stewardship and cases are nominated by National Tourism Organizations of eleven countries in accordance with eleven priority areas of the joint statement.
