Launch of ASEAN-Japan Sustainable Tourism Best Practices Sharing Webpage

The AJC has been working on “ASEAN-Japan Sustainable Tourism Best Practices Sharing” project, in response to the outcomes of the ASEAN-Japan Tourism Ministers’ special dialogues held in Tokyo in October 2023. As part of this project, we launched a special webpage in January 2025 to share best practices in sustainable tourism from ASEAN member states and Japan.

This webpage serves as a knowledge-sharing platform to promote sustainable tourism initiatives in the ASEAN and Japan tourism industries, based on the fundamental principles of sustainable development: environmental preservation, socio-cultural maintenance, and economic prosperity. Currently, the website features eight best practices from three countries, and we plan to expand the content to cover all ten ASEAN member states and Japan by the end of 2025.

This website serves as a platform to strengthen collaboration between tourism industry stakeholders in ASEAN and Japan, and to generate new initiatives.
