Key takeaways

  1. Educate youths about marine plastic pollution: The weekly post series featured strategies to combat marine plastic pollution individually and as a country, as well as other facts about the issue of marine plastic pollution so that youths can learn more about this issue and share about it with their family members/friends.
  2. Spread more awareness about marine plastic pollution: Through the weekly post series, we were able to spread more awareness about this issue to our online followers. This allowed them to recognise the pressing issue of marine plastic waste, and be more inspired to change their habits to save the oceans after reading through our posts.

Evaluation

The posts were quite well-received by our followers, but we feel that more could be done to increase the engagement for the posts. For example, for future posts, we could create polls in the comments for viewers to vote and participate actively. The posts could also follow a particular character/mascot that we created personally, which may make it more fun and interesting for viewers as it would feel as though they are following a storyline while learning more about marine plastic pollution.
