AJYELN Brunei Fellows Launched “Trash Art” Contest to Raise Awareness of Repurposing Plastic Waste Among Junior High School Students in Chung Hua Middle School

The competition was held at Chung Hua Middle School and targeted junior high school students from Year 7 to 10. A total of 25 students participated in the competition. 

Activities Implemented:

The Trash Art Contest was an exciting event for junior high school students (Years 7 to 10) to ignite their creativity and environmental awareness. Participants were challenged to create art using recycled materials, prompting them to consider their artistic contributions to reducing waste.

Feedback:

The Trash Art Contest proved to be an engaging and effective way to encourage students to reimagine waste as an artistic medium. It highlighted the power of creativity in addressing environmental issues and instilled a deeper understanding of recycling and resource utilization in students. 

Outcome (Awards & Winners):

The Award Ceremony was held on November 27 to celebrate the participants’ achievements. The winner received a trophy for their remarkable artwork, and all participants were given Certificates of Appreciation to recognize their efforts and commitment to sustainability.
