Showcasing Malaysia’s Tourism Allure: Influencer Familiarization Trip Launched

The ASEAN-Japan Centre and Tourism Malaysia jointly hosted a familiarization trip for five Japanese influencers to showcase Malaysia’s tourism appeal. The 5-day itinerary, covering the capital Kuala Lumpur and adjacent Selangor state, was designed to highlight the diverse culture of multi-ethnic Malaysia and its rich urban and natural tourism resources. 

Main Visited Sites:

Sky Mirror, Blue Mosque, Pink Mosque, Batu Caves, Merdeka Square, Thean Hou Temple, Central Market, Chinatown, REXKL, GMBB, and more

Full Cooperation with Tourism Malaysia

This familiarization trip was conducted with full support from the Tourism Malaysia Tokyo Office and Tourism Malaysia. The first day featured a networking dinner with Tourism Malaysia’s Director General and staffs also stakeholders of places in the itinerary, where discussions centered on promoting Malaysian tourism in Japan, the appeal of planned destinations, and each influencer’s activities. Tabippo also joined as a media partner.

Diverse Attractions of Malaysian Tourism

To experience multi-ethnic Malaysia’s unique character, participants explored various cultural sites. They visited religious facilities of different ethnic groups—mosques, Chinese temples, and Hindu sacred sites—capturing grand structures while observing local daily life. The influencers also deepened their understanding of Malaysian food culture by sampling diverse ethnic cuisines.

Practicing Sustainable Tourism

Preserving history, culture, and nature are keys to sustainable tourism. Through exposure to diverse tourism resources, ethnic differences, and local interactions, participants learned to contribute to sustainable tourism in effortless ways. They recognized Malaysia’s heritage from a traveler’s perspective, aiming to promote responsible tourism through their platforms.
