ASEAN-Japan Centre organized a workshop on Community-Based Tourism (CBT) for Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Viet Nam (CLMV) from 23 – 25 November 2022. The workshop was held in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR and it was co-organized by Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Lao PDR.
Twenty-eight participants from both government and private sectors of CLMV countries learned how to design and manage CBT from experts of 1)Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA) Thailand, 2) Asian Development Bank (ADB), and 3) Indigo LLC, a destination marketing specialist in Japan.
As part of the program, the group visited Kuang Si Waterfall and learned the case of public private cooperation to manage the famous tourism site.
