“ASEAN New Generation ASEAN Short Film Awards” Public Voting Held on Instagram and YouTube (Monday, March 17 – Sunday, March 30)

The ASEAN-Japan Centre (AJC) has held the “ASEAN New Generation ASEAN Short Film Awards” for the first time this year, and 10 award-winning short films have been selected.

To make the award-winning films more widely available to the public, the AJC will conduct a public voting on its Instagram account and YouTube channel (Playlist) from March 17 (Mon.) to March 30 (Sun.) (Japan time).

Since the purpose of this film award is to introduce new ASEAN attractions to the people of Japan through images and stories portrayed by the ASEAN nationals, the AJC will especially encourage the people of Japan to watch the films and vote for their favorites. The “Most Popular Film Award” will be given to the most popular film among those voted for.

How to vote:

– Instagram: Visit [ASEAN-Japan Center PR official Instagram account (@aseanjapancentre_pr)] and “Like” the post of your favorite film to complete your vote. You can vote for multiple films.

– YouTube: Visit [The ASEAN-Japan Centre’s official YouTube channel (@TheASEANJapanCentre)], and “Like” your favorite film to complete your vote. You can vote for multiple films.

What is the ASEAN Short Film Award?

The AJC aims to further develop ASEAN-Japan relations by deepening the understanding of ASEAN and its 10 Member States in Japan. This film award was held with the purpose of conveying to the Japanese people the new attractions of ASEAN through images and stories portrayed by the ASEAN nationals. The theme was “The World I Want to See.” Filmmakers from the ASEAN Member States were invited to submit their 2-3 minutes long short film, and approximately 100 submissions were received.
